Arboretum Near Massanutten

Within the city limits of Harrisonburg which sits in the shadow of the Massanutten Mountain, the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum offers Massanutten guests an opportunity to experience the horticultural side of the Massanutten experience.  On the edge of the campus of James Madison University, this 125-acre arboretum, features walking trails through beautifully manicured gardens and plants native to Virginia.  Visitors to the arboretum can also participate in lectures, tours, travel programs and other special seasonal programs.  In the summer pack a lunch, take a quick drive from Massanutten and meet at the Arboretum on Wednesday for the Brown Bag series. Also visit the Rockingham Springs Arboretum in Massanutten at Hopkins Park.
